Allen-Bradley 20DC030A0EYNANGNE PowerFlex 700S Phase II AC Drive

AC DRIVE700S1 CATALOG NUMBER

Product Description

Allen-Bradley 20DC030A0EYNANGNE is a discontinued PowerFlex 700S AC drive with Phase II control for closed-loop 400 V three-phase motor applications. It converts the incoming supply into regulated motor power, and the Phase II base cassette uses incremental-encoder feedback to compare commanded and measured motion as the drive controls speed and torque.

The hardware path in 20DC030A0EYNANGNE includes a conformally coated Frame 2 IP20 / Type 1 assembly, an installed brake IGBT and no drive-mounted braking resistor. Its second-environment EMC filter, blank HIM plate, no internal communication module and absence of DriveLogix define the delivered configuration; those missing options must not be inferred from the PowerFlex 700S family name.

Phase II Motion Control

PowerFlex 700S

The base cassette closes the regulation loop around command processing and motor feedback.

01

Reference processing

Phase II control receives the configured speed or torque reference and calculates the requested motor response.

02

Power-stage command

The controller directs the inverter so the motor output follows the active regulation mode.

03

Closed-loop correction

Incremental-encoder feedback returns measured motion to the controller, allowing error between command and response to be corrected.

Encoder and Braking Architecture

Feedback measurement and regenerated-energy handling use separate hardware paths.

Incremental feedback

The standard encoder option supplies pulse-based motor feedback to the Phase II controller.

Brake switching

The installed brake IGBT provides the electronic switching point for an external dynamic-braking branch.

Resistor boundary

No drive-mounted braking resistor is included, so the energy-dissipation component and protection remain external.

Frequently Asked Questions

A failed 20DC030A0EYNANGNE must be sourced for an existing machine. What lifecycle boundary affects the replacement decision?

20DC030A0EYNANGNE is a discontinued PowerFlex 700S configuration. Its exact option string must be checked because the discontinued status does not establish a drop-in successor.

The closed-loop application depends on motor feedback. Which device is already configured in 20DC030A0EYNANGNE?

20DC030A0EYNANGNE includes the standard incremental-encoder option. The Phase II base cassette processes that feedback for closed-loop regulation.

The controller must communicate with 20DC030A0EYNANGNE. Can an embedded network port be assumed from the catalog number?

No. This configuration explicitly has no internal communication module and no embedded communications, so the required communication path is not part of the ordered drive.

Regenerative deceleration is part of the machine cycle. Which braking components are and are not inside 20DC030A0EYNANGNE?

A brake IGBT is installed, but the drive-mounted braking resistor is not included. The external resistor branch remains a separate part of the braking design.

The cabinet is exposed to contamination. Does conformal coating make 20DC030A0EYNANGNE a sealed drive?

No. Conformal coating protects the configured electronics, but the enclosure remains IP20 / Type 1 and does not become a sealed outdoor or washdown enclosure.
