Allen-Bradley 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM are Kinetix 350 single-axis EtherNet/IP servo drives with 240 V AC single-phase input and an integrated AC line filter. Their shared V32 construction is paired with two output stages: 0.8 kW for PR2 and 1.7 kW for PR4. The LM suffix places these power stages in the Kinetix 350 controller-integration and commissioning workflow.
In 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM, mains power passes through the filtered input and DC bus before the inverter creates controlled motor current. Motor feedback returns on its own connector, EtherNet/IP links the drive to the Logix control system, and the safe-torque-off input remains outside both the network data path and the motor-power circuit. The control-power backup input can support drive electronics but cannot energize the motor output.
Selecting between 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM requires more than matching nominal kilowatts. Continuous and peak current double from PR2 to PR4, the PR4 enclosure dissipates more heat and weighs more, and the motor, cable, protection, regenerative load, and panel ventilation must all correspond to the exact catalog number. Their 39 W and 67 W maximum losses also produce different enclosure heat loads.

The AC line filter is built into both V32 models, making the filtered-input identity part of the complete catalog number rather than an optional description.
PR2 provides 4.0 A rms continuous output and PR4 provides 8.0 A rms, so the power section scales without changing the basic interface roles.
A 20–26 V DC control-power backup input supports the electronics separately from the 240 V AC mains circuit.
Correct installation of 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM depends on thermal spacing, cable separation, and matching the protective hardware to the selected PR rating.
Use 39 W for the PR2 maximum loss and 67 W for the PR4 maximum loss when estimating enclosure heat and ventilation.
Route motor power, feedback, EtherNet/IP, backup control power, and STO wiring as distinct circuits instead of grouping signal conductors with motor leads.
Maintain at least 25 mm above and below the drive and 3 mm at each side before adding connector and wire-bend allowances.
On 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM, no. The PR4 model has a larger physical power stage with 8.0 A rms continuous and 24.0 A rms peak output, compared with 4.0 A and 12.0 A for PR2. Firmware settings cannot convert one hardware current class into the other.
The V32 position identifies the 240 V single-phase configuration with the integrated AC line filter. The shared V32 code is the input characteristic; PR2 and PR4 then select the separate output-power steps. The stated boundary applies to 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM.
With 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM under review, its maximum drive loss is 67 W rather than the PR2 value of 39 W. Enclosure temperature, airflow, and neighboring heat sources should therefore be calculated with the model-specific loss instead of a family-wide estimate.
Verify that motor feedback is connected to the dedicated feedback interface and that the configured motor matches the installed unit. A working EtherNet/IP link confirms the controller data path, not the integrity or phasing of the feedback circuit. This requirement covers 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM.
For equipment identified as 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM, the 20–26 V DC, 500 mA nominal backup circuit can keep the control electronics available for controller communication and status handling. It cannot charge the main DC bus or energize the inverter, so motor torque remains unavailable until the main AC power path is restored.
Keep the entire 2097-V32PR2-LM or 2097-V32PR4-LM catalog number, including V32, PR2/PR4, and LM. Those positions distinguish the filtered supply, output rating, and Kinetix 350 configuration. The complete string also prevents the 1.7 kW PR4 unit from being quoted against a PR2 requirement. The models covered are 2097-V32PR2-LM / 2097-V32PR4-LM.
