To add motor axes after the Kinetix 2000 IAM, the Allen-Bradley 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02 mount on the shared 325 V DC power rail and convert rail energy into controlled servo-motor output. Each module closes its own feedback loop, but it depends on the IAM for bus precharge, converter capacity and control-power distribution.
Mechanically, 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02 impose different rail-planning rules: AMP1 occupies one inverter slot, while AM02 is a double-wide module that consumes two adjacent inverter positions. The motor-cable shield bracket can be mounted at the permitted edge of the module so strain relief and the grounded shield path remain close to the power connector.

The Allen-Bradley 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02 use different numbers of inverter connectors even though both operate as rail-fed Kinetix 2000 axes.
AMP1 aligns with one inverter connector, leaving the next physical slot available for another compatible module.
AM02 spans two adjacent inverter positions, so both must be counted before a rail catalog number is selected.
Neither axis module can occupy the converter location; the IAM stays at the left and supplies both the rail bus and precharge path.
Active modules remain contiguous, with a shunt or filler closing the positions that follow the final motor axis.
The Allen-Bradley 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02 use the shield-clamp bracket to bond the motor cable near the drive instead of carrying high-frequency shield current through long cabinet leads.
The 2090-K2KSCLAMP-4 hardware provides the mechanical support and shield-contact surface specified for this module family.
The bracket can be placed at the permitted top or bottom location to suit cable entry while preserving required bend clearance.
Only the prepared shield section sits under the clamp; insulated phase conductors continue to the motor-power terminals.
A short, wide bond from the clamp area to the conductive subpanel returns high-frequency noise without using the feedback cable path.
For 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02, aMP1 uses one inverter slot and AM02 uses two adjacent slots. Count module width, not only the number of catalog lines, when choosing the power rail.
Within a 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02 installation, use a rail with enough inverter positions after the IAM, including space for any shunt and fillers. The module arrangement must fit the rail connector pattern without gaps between active devices.
When specifying 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02, they contain inverters but no incoming AC converter or precharge circuit. The IAM provides the shared DC bus and control-power path for the rail.
On 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02, it gives the motor cable shield a short, low-impedance bond to the panel and provides strain relief. It is not a substitute for the motor protective-earth conductor.
Before wiring 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02, allow room for the connector shell, cable bend and service removal path. The published module body depth alone does not include that working space.
No. While commissioning 2093-AMP1 / 2093-AM02, active modules are mounted contiguously after the IAM. Unused positions are closed with fillers after the final active module.
