COMPACT DRIVE SELECTION · 3 HP AND 5 HP
Higher-current PowerFlex 4M choices for 480 V-class machinery.
Allen-Bradley 22F-D6P0N103 and 22F-D8P7N103 are PowerFlex 4M adjustable-frequency AC drives for a 380–480 V AC three-phase input. Both provide a 0–460 V three-phase output in the PowerFlex 4M platform.
The 22F-D6P0N103 carries a 2.2 kW (3 HP), 6.0 A output rating, while the 22F-D8P7N103 carries a 3.7 kW (5 HP), 8.7 A output rating. Their rated input currents are 5.2 A and 7.0 A, with maximum input values of 6.2 A and 8.3 A.
Both 22F-D6P0N103 and 22F-D8P7N103 use Frame B, an IP20 open enclosure, an LED display and a fixed digital keypad. The two catalog configurations omit the CE-compliant filter and brake IGBT and have a 50–60 Hz frequency rating.

22F-D6P0N103 and 22F-D8P7N103 provide I²t Class 10 motor protection at 150% for 60 seconds or 200% for 3 seconds.
The protection data specifies a 200% hardware current limit and a 300% instantaneous-fault level.
For the 380-480 V class, overvoltage trips at an 810 V DC bus and undervoltage trips at a 390 V DC bus.
22F-D6P0N103 and 22F-D8P7N103 support Ramp, Coast, DC-Brake, Ramp-to-Hold and S-curve stop modes.
Match the continuous motor current and load duty first: the two drives provide 6.0 A and 8.7 A respectively. Confirm overload and ambient derating before ordering.
Their manual protection classes differ, commonly 10 A versus 15 A. The final fuse or circuit breaker must come from the approved table and installation code.
A high-inertia load can regenerate energy into the DC bus during stopping. If the stop is too aggressive, an overvoltage trip may occur and a braking solution may be required.
No. Losses accumulate inside the cabinet, so the actual ambient, enclosure size and cooling method must be checked before operation.
Check the driven machine, acceleration profile, motor current, parameter values and airflow before resetting. Repeated resetting can hide a mechanical or sizing problem.
Use a short protective-earth path, bond the panel correctly and follow the manual shield guidance. Do not use the control cable shield as the protective conductor.
