Linear device path
One Ethernet port can receive the network path and the second can continue it to the next device. The arrangement reduces the need for a separate switch at every drive location.

For higher-power induction-motor axes, Allen-Bradley 25C-D024N104 and 25C-D030N104 are PowerFlex 527 AC drives that connect a 380…480 V three-phase supply to a controlled three-phase motor output. They are installed inside the machine control panel and receive their motion commands from a supported Logix controller, allowing the AC motor axis to use the same Studio 5000 programming environment as Allen-Bradley servo axes.
In 25C-D024N104 and 25C-D030N104, the input rectifier and DC bus feed an IGBT output bridge, while dual EtherNet/IP ports carry axis commands, configuration, diagnostics and CIP Safety traffic. Hardwired devices can use four digital inputs, two independently isolated analog inputs, the selectable analog output, two opto outputs, two relay outputs and the Safe Torque Off terminals without replacing the controller-owned network path.
During a stop request, 25C-D024N104 and 25C-D030N104 can block gate-firing signals through Safe Torque Off, using either the hardwired safety terminals or CIP Safety over EtherNet/IP as selected by the machine safety design. STO prevents the inverter from producing torque but does not isolate incoming line power; the two models share this safety and control structure, while normal-duty versus heavy-duty motor loading determines which power stage is selected.

The embedded network pair lets each drive sit in a linear path, connect through a star infrastructure or participate in a Device Level Ring without an external two-port adapter.
One Ethernet port can receive the network path and the second can continue it to the next device. The arrangement reduces the need for a separate switch at every drive location.
Both ports support DLR participation, giving the drive a place in a ring that can maintain communication after one media break when the complete ring is configured correctly.
EtherNet/IP carries standard control data, safety data through CIP Safety and diagnostic information. The controller remains the source of the motion program and stored drive configuration.
The built-in Safe Torque Off function removes the gate-firing path to the drive output devices while the wider safety system determines when that state is required.
STO blocks gate-firing signals from reaching the insulated-gate bipolar transistor output stage. The motor cannot receive the switching sequence needed to generate torque.
The safety function can be applied through the hardwired terminals or through Integrated Safety on EtherNet/IP. The selected method becomes part of the machine safety design.
The drive is one component of a Category 3 / PLe and SIL 3 safety function. STO supports mechanical work on the affected machine area but does not provide electrical isolation.
25C-D024N104 carries 11 kW in both normal and heavy duty. 25C-D030N104 provides 15 kW normal duty but 11 kW heavy duty, so the load profile decides whether its higher normal-duty rating can be used.
No external two-port adapter is required for the basic connection. Both catalog numbers include dual EtherNet/IP ports with Device Level Ring support.
STO prevents gate-firing signals from driving the IGBT output stage. It removes torque-producing switching but does not disconnect the incoming electrical supply.
Both models use Frame D and therefore share the same published enclosure dimensions and approximate mass. Their current, power and duty ratings remain different, so a common physical fit does not make them electrically interchangeable.
The PowerFlex 527 configuration is stored in the Logix controller project. That controller-based arrangement supports automatic transfer of the saved configuration when a drive is replaced.
The open-type drives operate to 50 °C without derating and require the stated derating treatment above that point. Frame D units use screw mounting rather than the DIN-rail option available on smaller frames.
Moore Automation supports the order process from product enquiry and quotation through packing, dispatch information and after-sales communication. Customers can submit the full catalog number and quantity so each line remains identifiable throughout the request.
