Product Description

Allen-Bradley 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN are PowerFlex 753 AC drives with embedded I/O in the PowerFlex 750-Series. Installed in a motor-control cabinet between the incoming supply and a three-phase motor, each drive regulates motor speed and torque while exchanging operating commands and drive status with the surrounding control system.

Inside 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN, embedded I/O passes field commands to the drive control section, the power stage converts the incoming electrical supply into controlled motor output, and operating status returns through the control interface. The three catalog numbers perform the same system role but occupy different output and physical classes, so the complete model determines both the supported motor duty and the required cabinet envelope.

Product Functions

Power path

The three catalog numbers share one functional chain: incoming AC feeds the drive power section, the DC link supports conversion and braking, and embedded I/O carries local commands and status.

01

AC-to-motor conversion

20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN receive fixed-frequency three-phase AC power at the line side. Their power sections rectify that supply, maintain the internal DC link and synthesize controlled three-phase output for motor speed and torque control.

02

DC and braking path

The DC terminals on 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN provide access to the drive DC link. During dynamic braking, the built-in DB transistor switches a correctly selected external resistor circuit so regenerated motor energy can be dissipated outside the drive.

03

Embedded command interface

Embedded I/O gives 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN a direct path for field commands and drive status without requiring a separate I/O option for the basic control interface. Because the shipped catalog configuration has no HIM, the commissioning plan must provide the intended configuration and operator-access method separately.

Installation Highlights

Frame 2, Frame 3 and Frame 4 use different mounting outlines, horizontal widths and frame-specific service parts.

Mounting outline

20F11ND011JA0NNNNN uses the Frame 2 outline, 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN uses Frame 3 and 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN uses Frame 4. Panel drilling, horizontal width and cable approach must follow the selected frame rather than the common PowerFlex 753 family name.

Cooling and service access

All three catalog numbers use forced-air cooling in an open-type construction. The enclosure layout therefore has to preserve the required airflow space and access to the fan, power terminals and control area after adjacent equipment is installed.

Frame-specific hardware

The three frames do not share every service and enclosure accessory: 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN uses Frame 2 parts, 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN uses the Frame 3 selection, and 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN requires Frame 4 parts. Match every fan, EMC or enclosure accessory to the frame code before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN be selected when the motor application can be rated for normal duty or heavy duty?

Use the duty class that matches the application's overload demand, not the shared voltage class alone. The 34 A and 65 A variants use lower motor-power ratings for heavy duty, while the 11 A Frame 2 variant remains 7.5 HP in both duty columns.

Can 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN be exchanged in the same cabinet without changing the mechanical layout?

No. The three catalog numbers use Frame 3, Frame 4 and Frame 2 respectively, so their widths, mounting locations and frame-specific support parts are different.

What must be planned before commissioning 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN when the ordered configuration has no HIM?

The ordered drive does not include a local keypad/display. Provide the intended compatible configuration and operator-access method before energizing so parameters and status can be accessed without assuming a HIM is supplied in the box.

How do the DC terminals and DB transistor work together on 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN during deceleration?

The DC terminals expose the internal DC-link path, while the DB transistor switches the dynamic-braking branch. Any external braking resistor must be selected and wired for the specific drive rating and application energy rather than treated as one common accessory across all three frames.

When should the CM-jumper arrangement be reviewed on 20F11ND034JA0NNNNN, 20F11ND065JA0NNNNN and 20F11ND011JA0NNNNN?

All three catalog configurations are filtered with the CM jumper installed as the preferred arrangement. Review the facility grounding and power-distribution system before changing that connection, because the jumper decision belongs to the installed power system rather than the motor rating alone.
