Siemens 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 / 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0 SINUMERIK/SIMOTION Fan and Battery Modules
Product Description
6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 and 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0 combine forced-air cooling with a replaceable backup-battery function for defined SINUMERIK NCU and SIMOTION D control-unit configurations. The control unit supervises temperature and fan operation, while the battery extends the retention function beyond the internal energy store.
6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 is the single-fan module. It is assigned to NCU 710, NCU 720 and NCU 730 and to the first-generation SIMOTION D425/D435 option or D445 spare arrangement. It cannot be used on SIMOTION D4x5-2 control units.
6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0 is the double-fan module for NCU 7x0 and later SIMOTION configurations including D445-1 and D4x5-2. On the D4x5-2 platform, one surviving fan continues at full load if the other fan fails, providing a different cooling-fault response from the single-fan order.

Cooling Module Installation
Single-Fan and Double-Fan Selection Boundary
Select the single-fan order only for its documented NCU and first-generation SIMOTION D application range.
Select the double-fan order for D445-1 and D4x5-2 configurations that require the two-fan module.
The common battery and cooling role does not make the two modules universally interchangeable; the installed control-unit generation determines the correct order.
FAQ
Can 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 replace 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0 on a SIMOTION D4x5-2 control unit?
No. The D4x5-2 equipment documentation permits only the 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0 double-fan module; the 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 single-fan module is not permitted on that generation.
Which control-unit identity must be confirmed before choosing 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 or 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0?
Read the complete NCU or SIMOTION D model and generation from the installed unit. The first-generation D425/D435/D445 assignments and the D445-1/D4x5-2 assignments do not use the two fan modules in the same way.
What does a one-fan fault mean for 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 compared with 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0?
A failed single fan removes the cooling fan from 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0. With 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0 on D4x5-2, the remaining fan continues at full load while the fault is reported.
How should retained data be protected before removing 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 or 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0?
Create the control-system backup required for the installed NCU or SIMOTION D unit and follow its battery-replacement procedure. Do not assume that the internal energy store will cover an extended service interruption.
When is 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 useful on a D425 or D435 even though the control unit can operate without it for 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 / 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0?
The single-fan module is used when free convection is insufficient as supply-air temperature rises, or when battery-backed retention beyond the internal five-day minimum is required.
Why can a correctly ordered 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 or 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0 still trigger a cooling or battery problem after installation?
Check full seating, latch engagement, battery-lead polarity, connector condition and an unobstructed airflow path, then read the control-unit diagnostics before replacing another component.
