At the low-current end of the 230 V Kinetix 6000 platform, the Allen-Bradley 2094-AC05-MP5-S is an integrated axis module that accepts AC input, establishes the shared 325 V DC bus and controls one servo motor. Its built-in converter starts the power rail, while the MP5 inverter section regulates the first axis from SERCOS commands and motor feedback.
Mounted at the far left of its Bulletin 2094 rail, the 2094-AC05-MP5-S supplies downstream axis modules through the rail connectors rather than loose DC-bus wiring. The -S suffix adds a hardwired safe-off interface for removing motor-producing torque while command communication, motor feedback and the power-conversion circuits remain separate connection paths.

The Allen-Bradley 2094-AC05-MP5-S adds a dedicated safe-off circuit to the IAM so torque removal does not depend on interrupting the SERCOS command stream.
Safe-off signals enter through their own connector and do not share terminals with motor feedback, relay output or optical communication.
When the safety circuit opens, the inverter gate path that can produce motor torque is disabled while the rail power architecture remains physically present.
Multiple safe-off axes can be wired through the machine safety circuit only with the required continuity and return path maintained across each connector.
A valid safe-off circuit is only one enable condition; the drive still requires an accepted command state and resolved axis faults before motion resumes.
The Allen-Bradley 2094-AC05-MP5-S begins the Kinetix 6000 rail by combining the converter slot and first inverter slot in one IAM body.
The IAM mounts beside the rail connector block reserved for the converter, leaving the remaining inverter positions for axis or shunt modules.
Mounted axis modules take DC-bus and control power from the rail after the IAM completes its precharge and bus-ready sequence.
Higher-utilization axis modules belong closest to the IAM so current travels through the shortest available section of the shared rail.
Every unoccupied rail connector is closed with the specified slot filler; an exposed connector is not a valid operating condition.
Within a 2094-AC05-MP5-S installation, it provides a hardwired path for disabling torque-producing inverter operation. It does not replace the SERCOS command connection or the machine’s complete safety circuit.
Yes. When specifying 2094-AC05-MP5-S, its integrated inverter is the 3.7 A rms continuous class. Confirm the motor current and duty cycle rather than selecting only from the converter rating.
On 2094-AC05-MP5-S, the IAM occupies the far-left converter position. Axis and shunt modules are installed to its right in the permitted utilization order.
Before wiring 2094-AC05-MP5-S, the body dimensions do not include the working space needed by power, motor and feedback connectors. Keep the specified clearance so cables are not forced against adjacent hardware.
No. While commissioning 2094-AC05-MP5-S, the motor feedback device, drive connector kit and cable family must match. A mechanically similar connector does not establish electrical compatibility.
No. For 2094-AC05-MP5-S, the incoming 230 V circuit still requires correctly sized protective and disconnecting devices. The IAM’s internal protection does not replace upstream branch-circuit coordination.
