Horner HE800GCM911 Mixed Analog I/O Module

Product Overview

The HE800GCM911 is a mixed analog input/output module from the Horner Automation SmartStack I/O series. It provides 4 analog input channels and 3 analog output channels in a single compact module, designed for versatile signal handling in automation and machine control applications.

The module's 4 input channels support multiple signal types: Channel 1 (±10 VDC), Channel 2 (100 Hz–15 kHz, 1–25 VAC magnetic pickup), Channel 3 (0–35 VDC), and Channel 4 (0–1000 Ω resistance). The 3 output channels include two ±10 VDC analog outputs and one PWM output (500 Hz, 5 V p-p, 0–100%).

A Large Memory Controller is required when using the GCM911, such as OCS110/210, OCS250 or higher, or RCS250. The module provides 1000 VRMS isolation between channels and channel-to-ground, ensuring reliable operation in industrial environments.

Configuration & Installation

The HE800GCM911 is configured through Cscape Software, where the status of the I/O can be monitored. The I/O Map describes which I/O registers are assigned to the module and where it is located in the point map, determined by the model number and location within the SmartStack.

The Module Setup tab is used in applications where it is necessary to change the default states or values of the outputs when the controller enters idle/stop mode. For analog outputs, the default sets output values to zero when the controller enters idle/stop mode; each output can be set to a specific value or hold the last value.

Input range for each channel can be selected independently, and the Filter Constant sets the level of digital filtering. The conversion formula for inputs is: Voltage In (Vin) = Data × Conversion Factor. For example, at ±10 VDC input range with data value 19200, the conversion factor is 0.0003125, resulting in Vin = 6 VDC.

FAQ

What controller is required for the HE800GCM911?
A Large Memory Controller is required when using the HE800GCM911, such as OCS110/210, OCS250 or higher, or RCS250. This requirement ensures sufficient memory for the module's configuration and data handling.
What are the input range capabilities of the HE800GCM911?
The HE800GCM911 has 4 input channels: Channel 1 (±10 VDC), Channel 2 (100 Hz–15 kHz, 1–25 VAC magnetic pickup), Channel 3 (0–35 VDC), and Channel 4 (0–1000 Ω resistance). Each channel has independent range selection.
How is the input data converted in the HE800GCM911?
The conversion formula is Voltage In (Vin) = Data × Conversion Factor. For example, at ±10 VDC input range with a data value of 19200 and conversion factor 0.0003125, the physical input is 6 VDC.
What is the PWM output specification on the HE800GCM911?
Channel 3 output provides 500 Hz PWM with 5 V peak-to-peak amplitude and 0–100% duty cycle. This output is suitable for controlling proportional valves, heaters, or other devices requiring PWM control.
What isolation does the HE800GCM911 provide?
The HE800GCM911 provides 1000 VRMS isolation between channels and between each channel and ground. This ensures reliable operation in industrial environments with electrical noise and prevents ground loops.
