Bently Nevada 21504-00-48-10-02 7200 Series 8 mm Standard-Mount Proximity Probe

Unarmored 3/8-24 probe with 4.8 in case and 1.0 m lead

01

Product Description

21504-00-48-10-02 is an unarmored Bently Nevada 7200 series 8 mm standard-mount proximity probe. Its 3/8-24 case has no unthreaded section, extends 4.8 in overall and carries a 1.0 m lead ending in a miniature male coaxial connector.

The probe forms the machine-end element of a 7200 5 mm/8 mm proximity transducer system. It measures the distance to a conductive target without contact and works with the family extension cable and 7200 Proximitor Sensor.

The long threaded body of 21504-00-48-10-02 provides adjustable reach through a bracket or casing. Its unarmored lead needs routing protection because the cable itself does not include stainless-steel armor.

8 mm Standard-Mount Construction

An 8 mm sensing tip provides the standard 7200 proximity geometry, and the 3/8-24 threaded body allows axial adjustment over the 4.8 in case length. With no smooth section at the tip, the threaded case can be positioned directly through the mounting hardware.

The 1.0 m unarmored lead keeps cable mass low and terminates at a removable miniature coaxial connection. The light-yellow 7200 family identification helps prevent mixing with other Bently Nevada transducer families.

Unarmored Lead Installation

Configuration focus

Check that the bracket or casing uses a clean 3/8-24 thread and has enough clearance for the 4.8 in body. Thread the probe to the required reach, lock it without twisting the integral lead, and maintain a direct view of the conductive target.

Field check

Support the unarmored 1.0 m cable along a protected route, connect it to the correct 7200 extension cable, seal the miniature coaxial joint and complete the loop with the matched 7200 Proximitor Sensor. Set gap voltage and confirm the monitor response before applying alarm functions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can the unarmored lead of 21504-00-48-10-02 be protected in a crowded machine enclosure?

Route the 1.0 m cable away from sharp edges, moving parts and liquid exposure, and support it before the miniature coaxial joint. Do not use the cable to hold the probe or force it around bends simply because no external armor is present.

What should be checked if the 4.8 in body of 21504-00-48-10-02 contacts internal machine parts?

Stop installation and compare the available axial clearance with the fully threaded 4.8 in case. Adjust the approved bracket arrangement or select the correct case length rather than shortening the probe body.

Why can 21504-00-48-10-02 give the wrong scale after being connected to an available extension cable?

A cable that physically connects may not preserve the calibrated 7200 system length. Verify the complete 7200 probe, extension cable and Proximitor Sensor combination before setting the 7.87 V/mm scale or judging channel accuracy.

Can 21504-00-48-10-02 be mixed with 3300-series electronics because both use an 8 mm tip?

Tip diameter does not establish system compatibility. Keep the light-yellow 7200 family components together or plan a documented complete-chain migration rather than changing only the probe.

What should be checked when alarms appear after 21504-00-48-10-02 is regapped?

Confirm the static gap voltage, probe security, target surface and cable routing before changing thresholds. Then prove the monitor’s dynamic response and check that the coaxial connection is dry and strain-relieved.
