Emerson IC200ALG261 / IC200ALG321 VersaMax Analog I/O Modules

Product Overview

The IC200ALG261 and IC200ALG321 are Emerson VersaMax analog I/O modules (formerly GE Fanuc). The IC200ALG261 provides an interface to eight differential voltage inputs with 15-bit converter resolution, receiving power from the backplane power supply with no external source required.

The IC200ALG321 provides four single-ended voltage output channels with 12-bit resolution, generating 0–10 VDC signals for modulating control devices such as valves, variable frequency drives (VFD), dampers, and positioners. This module requires an external power supply of 18–30 VDC or 9.6–15 VDC.

Both modules are part of the VersaMax I/O platform and require a carrier base for operation. The modular design addresses a wide range of discrete and process applications in machine control, light industrial, and general automation environments.

Installation & Wiring

The IC200ALG261 and IC200ALG321 are modular I/O modules that require a carrier base for operation. The green OK LED on the ALG261 indicates backplane power is present, internally generated field power is functioning properly, the module has been configured, and the module has been recognized on the backplane.

For the IC200ALG321, the FLD PWR LED indicates field power is present, and the OK LED indicates backplane power is present. The module provides isolation between user input and logic ground/frame ground rated at 250 VAC continuous and 1500 VAC for 1 minute duration.

Shielded twisted pair cable is recommended for all analog channel connections. The cable shield can be connected directly to the carrier if in accordance with the field wiring table. Route analog input wiring in dedicated cable trays to ensure maximum separation from high-voltage AC lines.

FAQ

What is the difference between IC200ALG261 and IC200ALG321?
The IC200ALG261 is an 8-channel 15-bit analog input module for differential voltage signals with no external power required. The IC200ALG321 is a 4-channel 12-bit analog output module for 0-10 VDC signals that requires an 18-30 VDC or 9.6-15 VDC external power supply.
Does the IC200ALG261 require an external power supply?
No. The IC200ALG261 receives power from the backplane power supply and requires no external power source for module operation. However, power for the user's transceivers must be supplied from an external source.
What output devices can the IC200ALG321 control?
The IC200ALG321 is designed to modulate control devices such as valves, variable frequency drives (VFD), louvers, dampers, positioners, and similar electrical equipment. It can also re-transmit signals for local panel meters, recorders, data loggers, signal splitters, and isolators.
What is the update rate of the IC200ALG261 and IC200ALG321?
The IC200ALG261 has an update rate of 7.5 ms per module. The IC200ALG321 has a maximum channel update rate of 0.3 ms per channel.
What wiring is recommended for the analog channels?
Shielded twisted pair cable is recommended for all analog channel connections. The cable shield can be connected directly to the carrier if in accordance with the field wiring table. Route analog wiring in dedicated trays away from high-voltage AC lines.
