YOKOGAWA · CENTUM ENGINEERING RECORD
Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1 is a sixteen-channel isolated thermocouple and millivolt input module with built-in barriers for CENTUM field I/O. It accepts IEC thermocouple types B, E, J, K, N, R, S and T or either of two millivolt ranges, then converts each selected channel into controller temperature or process data.
At the ATST4 pressure-clamp terminal, Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1 measures the sensor voltage and applies reference-junction compensation for supported thermocouples. Each channel can be assigned TC or mV service, while burn-out behavior is enabled or disabled for the complete module rather than independently per point.
A non-grounded thermocouple is required on Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1 because grounding several isolated channels at the sensors can create multi-point grounds and temperature error. Shielding, terminal ambient temperature and total source-plus-wiring resistance are therefore part of measurement quality.

AST143-S00 S1 measurement quality depends on sensor type, microvolt conversion, reference-junction conditions and the complete wiring path.
Each channel can be assigned a supported thermocouple or millivolt range, allowing mixed sensor types without changing the module hardware.
Thermocouple accuracy includes the ATST4 terminal reference junction; terminal ambient conditions influence the compensation error.
Burn-out can drive failed inputs UP or DOWN, but the enable and direction setting applies across the module and must match the control strategy.
Install AST143-S00 S1 by preserving sensor polarity, isolation and the terminal environment that supports reference-junction compensation.
Record every channel type, range and polarity; use non-grounded thermocouples and verify the total source-plus-wiring resistance before termination.
De-energize the node, fit the documented ATST4 terminal, land paired conductors in channel order and terminate the shield according to the approved EMC plan.
Restore power, compare selected channels with a known millivolt or temperature source, check reference-junction behavior and prove the configured burn-out direction.
Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1 isolates its channels, but several grounded thermocouples can create multi-point grounds and temperature error; use non-grounded sensors as specified.
Yes. Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1 allows TC or mV selection for each channel from CH1 to CH16, provided each range and wiring pair is configured correctly.
For Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1, the ATST4 terminal ambient condition, installation arrangement and selected thermocouple type affect reference-junction compensation.
Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1 can apply module-wide UP or DOWN burn-out behavior; check the open sensor circuit and the configured burn-out direction.
For Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1, verify channel type, polarity, shield, terminal identity and a known input on representative TC and mV channels before accepting process values.
No. Yokogawa AST143-S00 S1 does not temperature-compensate Type B below the documented region, and temperatures under 44 °C are not measurable for that type.
