YOKOGAWA · CENTUM ENGINEERING RECORD
Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 and Yokogawa AAP849-S00 S1 are pulse-processing modules for CENTUM field control stations. AAP149-S00 S1 acquires sixteen open-collector pulse inputs for PM1-compatible processing, while AAP849-S00 S1 couples eight pulse inputs with eight 4 to 20 mA outputs for PAC-compatible loops.
Pulse transitions enter Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 at up to 6 kHz and are detected on the trailing edge before the module updates controller data every 2 ms. Yokogawa AAP849-S00 S1 accepts pulse trains up to 12 kHz, updates the input image every 1 ms and separately converts eight controller commands into analog current outputs.
The dedicated cable is part of the signal path for Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 and Yokogawa AAP849-S00 S1. AAP849-S00 S1 also requires output-loop load and open-circuit behavior to be checked, whereas AAP149-S00 S1 has no analog output circuits.

The modules organize pulse events differently because only AAP849-S00 S1 adds an analog control path.
AAP149-S00 S1 collects sixteen pulse channels at up to 6 kHz. AAP849-S00 S1 collects eight channels at up to 12 kHz and updates their controller image faster.
Trailing-edge detections become controller pulse data through the dedicated cable and configured channel mapping; the controller, not the module face, supplies the engineering interpretation.
AAP849-S00 S1 converts eight controller values into 4 to 20 mA outputs. AAP149-S00 S1 stops at pulse acquisition and cannot drive analog loops.
AAP149-S00 S1 and AAP849-S00 S1 sit between open-collector pulse sources and their CENTUM control functions, with different cable and output requirements.
The sensor or pulse source must present the documented open-collector signal and maintain the expected trailing-edge behavior across the configured frequency range.
KS2 belongs to AAP149-S00 S1; KS1 belongs to AAP849-S00 S1. Cable identity and connector orientation must be verified before the module is seated.
For AAP849-S00 S1, each 4 to 20 mA receiver remains within 750 Ω and circuit-open detection is included in commissioning checks.
No. Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 / AAP849-S00 S1 differ in channel count, cable type and whether analog outputs are required, so the complete input/output arrangement must be matched.
For Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 / AAP849-S00 S1, verify open-collector wiring, trailing-edge quality, frequency limit, common reference, cable assignment and the controller sampling configuration.
Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 / AAP849-S00 S1 use KS2 and KS1 dedicated cables respectively; the two cable assignments should not be exchanged.
No. Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 / AAP849-S00 S1 provide no analog output and eight 4 to 20 mA outputs respectively.
For Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 / AAP849-S00 S1, inject a known low-rate pulse first, confirm ordered counts, then raise frequency within the specified limit; also verify each AAP849-S00 S1 current output under its actual load.
Only the AAP849-S00 S1 part of Yokogawa AAP149-S00 S1 / AAP849-S00 S1 has current outputs; check loop continuity, polarity and load when its output current falls below the open-detection threshold.
Moore Automation works with multi-brand automation references and keeps each enquiry tied to the requested manufacturer and full model. This structure helps distinguish similar modules, option codes and generations during commercial review.
