Woodward governor control hardware
9907 Series · speed control · generator load sharing
Woodward 9907-010 is a 2301A electronic load sharing and speed control in the Woodward 9907 Series. It regulates prime-mover speed and generator load by receiving speed, load, and operating-mode signals and driving the connected proportional actuator.
Within the control system, Woodward 9907-010 sits between the speed-sensing device, generator current and potential transformers, operating contacts, and the actuator. Its sheet-metal chassis contains one printed circuit board with front-accessible potentiometers for the configured control adjustments.
The signal path on Woodward 9907-010 uses defined terminal groups: the speed-sensing device enters at terminals 28 and 29, the proportional actuator leaves through terminals 20 and 21, and the load-sharing line uses terminals 10 and 11 with its shield at terminal 12.

| Exact Variant Check | Confirm 9907-010 identification tag and voltage/current option |
Woodward 9907-010 converts speed and load feedback into an actuator command while allowing the prime mover to operate in the selected control mode.
The control compares the speed-sensing input with the selected operating setpoint and adjusts the actuator output.
The load-sharing line links compatible controls so generator load can be coordinated during parallel operation.
The droop contact and breaker auxiliary contact determine whether the control operates in droop or isochronous load-sharing mode.
Woodward 9907-010 has defined supply, frequency, wiring, and location limits that belong to the exact control variant.
The switch-selectable ranges cover 500–1,500 Hz through 4,000–12,000 Hz; the lowest range containing maximum sensor frequency is selected.
The supply enters the control power terminals, while the actuator output uses terminals 20 and 21 and the speed sensor uses terminals 28 and 29.
The control needs ventilation and protection from water, vibration, high-current equipment, and EMI, and it must not be mounted on the engine.
Woodward 9907-010 is treated as a 2301A load sharing and speed control reference in the 9907 Series. The identification tag still has to confirm the exact voltage, actuator-current, direction, and option details before wiring.
For Woodward 9907-010, calculate the maximum speed-sensor frequency from gear teeth and prime-mover speed, then select the lowest switch range that contains that frequency. The listed ranges are 500–1,500, 1,000–3,000, 2,000–6,000, and 4,000–12,000 Hz.
Woodward 9907-010 uses isochronous control for constant prime-mover speed and load-sharing arrangements, while droop control makes speed a function of load for infinite-bus or parallel operation. The droop and breaker auxiliary contacts determine the selected mode.
The actuator pair for Woodward 9907-010 connects to terminals 20(+) and 21(–), with its shield at terminal 22. The speed-sensing device connects to terminals 28 and 29, with the shield connected to terminal 27.
Woodward 9907-010 must be matched to the voltage range shown on its control identification. The 2301A 9907 family includes 18–40 VDC low-voltage models and 88–132 VAC or 90–150 VDC high-voltage models; do not infer the exact variant from the series name alone.
Mount Woodward 9907-010 in a ventilated control location protected from water, condensation, strong vibration, high-current equipment, and electromagnetic interference. The control is not to be mounted on the engine, and the installation temperature range is –40 to +85 °C.
