Meggitt Vibro-Meter VM600 industrial monitoring hardware
VM600 · processes VM600 rack data and exposes the configured Ethernet and serial communication paths
Meggitt Vibro-Meter CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122 is a VM600 modular CPU card variant group. It provides the processing layer that receives data from the VM600 rack and presents the configured controller and communications services to the external system.
Within the rack, CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122 exchanges data with the installed monitoring, protection and interface cards through the VM600 backplane. The card family supports two Ethernet interfaces and two serial interfaces, with front and rear connections assigned to different physical access points.
On CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122, the firmware and hardware designation is part of the CPU card configuration. The installed card passes rack data to the configured Ethernet or serial path after the rack connection has delivered the module data.

CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122 separates its internal rack data path from the Ethernet and serial access points.
The CPUM and associated IOCN provide the two Ethernet access points used by the configured VM600 communications path.
The front service connection is RS-232, while the rear isolated interface can use RS-232 or RS-485.
The VM600 backplane carries the internal card data before it reaches an external port.
CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122 processes the data presented by the cards installed in the VM600 rack.
Measurement and protection cards deliver their data through the rack connection.
The CPUM provides the central CPU function for the configured rack.
The configured Ethernet or serial interface carries the processed data beyond the rack.
CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122 uses the front CPUM service path for the RS-232 interface. The rear interface belongs to the IOCN-side connection and is electrically separate from the front service port.
CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122 receives data from the installed VM600 cards through the rack backplane. The CPU card then presents the configured data through its external communication path.
No. The Ethernet interfaces on CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122 are communication ports for the controller and network path. Sensor and protection signals enter through the associated VM600 measurement or I/O cards.
They are two supplied CPUM identifiers grouped in one display. Their full PNR strings remain distinct because firmware and hardware designations are part of the card record.
Trace the selected Ethernet or serial cable from the external equipment to the corresponding CPUM or IOCN connection, then verify the rack backplane path into CPUM 200-595-072-422 / CPUM 200-595-072-122.
The CPUM card can be identified independently, but the complete communications path also includes the IOCN-side rear connections when those are used. The rack record should therefore show both cards and their cable roles.
