Product Overview

The HE800COM650 is a CANOpen Master communication module from the Horner Automation SmartStack I/O series. It provides CANOpen network master functionality for OCS, RCS, and TIU controllers, supporting up to 128 nodes on a 2-wire CANbus network.

The module supports synchronous telegrams (PDOs), asynchronous telegrams (SDOs), Life-Guard telegrams, Sync telegrams, and Emergency telegrams. It accommodates a maximum of 60 data types per node with Boolean, 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit, Float, and String data types.

Configuration is performed via the RS232 serial port on the module using HSyCon software. Data and commands are exchanged with the host controller through a dual-port RAM interface.

Connector & Pin Configuration

The HE800COM650 provides two connector options: a 9-Way D-Type connector and a 5-Pin CombiCon connector. The 9-Way D-Type pin assignment includes Pin 2 for CANL, Pin 3 for DGND, Pin 6 for 0V external power, Pin 7 for CANH, Pin 9 for +V (24V external), and Pin 5 for Shield.

The 5-Way CombiCon connector provides Pin 1 for 0V external, Pin 2 for CANL, Pin 3 for Shield, Pin 4 for CANH, and Pin 5 for +V (24V external). Both connector options support the 2-wire CANbus network topology.

The module can be installed on OCS, RCS, NX, QX, FOX base/hub, or TIU platforms through the SmartStack expansion interface. A maximum of four SmartStack modules can be installed per base, and modules must not be installed or removed while powered on.
