The GE 8717-CA-PS is a dedicated power supply chassis designed specifically for the PAC8000 automation system. Serving as the system's physical and electrical connectivity hub, it primarily accommodates the 8910-PS-DC DC power supply module, providing stable power distribution and device interconnection for the entire I/O system. This chassis utilizes a modular, integrated architecture, providing mechanical support for the power modules, bus interface modules (BIMs), I/O modules, and field wiring terminal blocks. It also utilizes an internal Railbus bus to uniformly transmit address, data, and power lines, establishing signal and power transmission links between system devices.
Its industrial-grade design supports various mounting options, including flat-panel, T-type, or G-type DIN rails, to accommodate diverse control cabinet layouts. The field wiring terminal blocks feature a snap-on design, allowing for quick replacement if damaged, eliminating the need for additional terminals or connectors. Furthermore, a comprehensive mechanical keying system effectively prevents damage to the equipment caused by incorrect module insertion, ensuring safe installation and operation.
