Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 is an unarmored 7200 Series 8 mm standard-mount proximity probe for a 7200 proximity transducer system. Its tip establishes the non-contact field at the conductive target, and the integral coaxial lead carries that response to the matching extension cable and Proximitor.
The order fields of Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 define a zero unthreaded length, a 4.0 inch case and a 1.0 m lead ending in the miniature male coaxial connector. That geometry determines how far the tip projects from the 3/8-24 threaded case and where the first cable junction is located.
Because Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 has no armor, the cable route must protect the coaxial lead from abrasion, sharp bends and clamp pressure. The complete 7200 system, not the probe by itself, produces the calibrated 2.0 mm displacement range and 7.87 V/mm output used by the monitor.

Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 performs the target-facing part of the 7200 displacement measurement chain.
The 8 mm tip reacts to changes in distance from the conductive target and converts that movement into an impedance change.
The 1.0 m coaxial lead preserves the probe response between the case and the miniature connector without conditioning it into the final voltage.
A compatible extension cable and 7200 Proximitor convert the probe response into the calibrated displacement signal received by the monitor.
Operation of Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 depends on the complete 7200 system, the target geometry used for calibration and the temperature applied to the probe-and-cable path.
The matched system covers an 80 mil calibrated range that begins approximately 10 mil from the probe face.
The 0 to 10 kHz system response carries both static gap and vibration components when the cable and Proximitor remain matched.
The probe and extension-cable construction is specified from −34 to +177 °C, so the sensing path can remain at an elevated machine temperature while the connected electronics stay within their own stated limits.
Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 produces a probe impedance response, not the final voltage signal. The compatible 7200 Proximitor supplies excitation and performs the conversion used by the monitor.
The integral coaxial lead of Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 must be routed away from abrasion, hot surfaces and tight clamps because the order code does not include stainless-steel armor.
Use Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 only where the mounting boss and target reach accept the 4.0 inch threaded case with zero unthreaded length; verify tip position before tightening.
Do not mix Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02 with a different transducer family on the basis of connector fit alone. The probe, extension cable and Proximitor must belong to the calibrated 7200 chain.
For Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02, target material, probe gap, cable connection and case position all affect the static output. Re-establish the mechanical gap and verify the system voltage after reinstalling.
De-energize the 7200 chain before separating Bently Nevada 21504-000-040-10-02, keep the miniature coaxial surfaces clean and dry, and reseat the connector without twisting the integral lead.
