Description
The 990 Vibration Transmitter is designed for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of centrifugal air compressors, small pumps, motors, or fans who wish to provide a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional vibration signal as an input to machinery control systems.
This transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device that accepts input from our 3300 NSv proximity probe and its matching extension cable (available in 5-meter and 7-meter system lengths).
The transmitter conditions the signal to the appropriate peak-to-peak vibration amplitude engineering units and provides this value to the control system as an industry-standard 4 to 20 mA proportional signal for use in machinery protection alarms and logic control†. The 990 transmitter offers the following notable features:
Integrated proximitor sensor, eliminating the need for external equipment
Non-isolated "PROX OUT" and "COM" terminals and a coaxial connector provide dynamic vibration and gap voltage signal outputs for diagnostics‡.
Non-interacting zero and span potentiometers below the transmitter label support loop adjustment.
Test input pin for quick verification of loop signal output using a function generator as input.
Anomaly/signal failure circuit prevents high output or false alarms caused by a faulty proximity probe or loose connections.
DIN rail clamps or bulkhead mounting screws are standard options, simplifying installation.

Why the Bentley Nevada 990 Vibration Sensor is the Ideal Choice
If you have machinery that requires constant monitoring, such as compressors, pumps, or motors, you definitely need a high-quality vibration sensor, and the Bentley Nevada 990 may be just what you need.
It's excellent at picking up vibrations
The 990 is excellent at picking up vibrations. It's so sensitive that it can pick up even the smallest vibrations. This is incredibly useful because if your equipment is about to have a problem, you can detect it before it escalates.
Rugged and durable for any environment
A major advantage of the 990 is its ruggedness. Whether you're working in environments with high heat, humidity, or strong vibration, it will perform flawlessly. It's more durable than some other sensors that don't perform well in harsh conditions, such as the Emerson CSI 6500 or Schneider Electric VibGuard.
Super easy to install
The best thing about this sensor is how easy it is to install. You don't have to worry about complicated wiring or setup. Whether your system uses HART, Modbus, or PROFIBUS, the 990 easily adapts. Compared to sensors like the Honeywell XNX or Yokogawa YV-10, the 990 is much easier to set up.
It warns you of problems before they happen
Another advantage of the 990 is that it not only tells you what's happening now, but also predicts if problems are about to occur. It analyzes your equipment's long-term operation and provides early warnings before problems actually occur. This allows you to fix them before they become serious problems.
Advantages of the 990
Compared to other sensors, the Bentley Nevada 990 stands out. It's more accurate and more robust than other products like the Emerson CSI 6500 and Schneider Electric VibGuard, making it a good choice for reliable operation.
990 Installation Tips
Mounting Location
For best results, ensure the sensor is close to where the vibration is occurring. The closer the sensor, the better the signal pickup. Also, avoid areas that could interfere with the readings.
Proper Calibration
After installation, you need to calibrate it. This means ensuring the sensor is correctly set up for your equipment. After calibration, the sensor should function normally, but it's best to check it regularly to ensure its accuracy remains accurate.
How to Keep Your Sensor Running Smoothly
Check Data Regularly
Bentley Nevada includes software that makes it easy to track sensor data. You can check performance and set alerts to identify problems before they become too serious.
Maintenance
As with anything, it's important to keep your sensor in good condition. This isn't difficult—just keep it clean and check for any dirt, rust, or other debris that might affect its performance.
Software Updates
Remember to update the software whenever necessary. This helps the sensor maintain efficient operation and provide you with better data.
Summary
If you want to keep your machinery running smoothly, the Bentley Nevada 990 Vibration Sensor is a reliable and convenient choice. It's sensitive, rugged, and easy to install. Plus, it can detect problems before they become serious.
With proper installation, calibration, and close monitoring of the data, this sensor will ensure your machine's continued optimal performance for the long term.
