August 1 Founding Day is the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, set on August 1 of each year, and was established by the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Committee to commemorate the founding of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants.
On July 11, 1933, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic decided, based on the recommendation of the Central Revolutionary Military Committee on June 30, that August 1 would be the anniversary of the founding of the Red Army of the Chinese workers and peasants, and on June 15, 1949, the Military Committee of the Chinese People's Revolution issued an order that "August 1" should be used as the date of the founding of the Red Army of the Chinese workers and peasants. The main symbol of the military flag and emblem of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). After the founding of the People's Republic of China, this anniversary was renamed the Chinese People's Liberation Army Army Foundation Day.
