Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM are CompactLogix 5380 motion controllers that execute machine logic, coordinate integrated motion and exchange I/O data through two embedded Gigabit EtherNet/IP ports. The controller is the head of a local 5069 I/O assembly, where backplane data and module power remain separate from field-side sensor and actuator power.
The two Ethernet interfaces on Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM can operate as one switched network for linear or DLR topologies, or as two independent IP networks. This lets machine-level devices and plant-level communication remain on different address spaces without adding a separate bridge.
Controller capacity distinguishes Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM: the L310ERM provides 1 MB of memory, 24 EtherNet/IP nodes and four position-loop axes, while the L330ERM expands those resources to 3 MB, 60 nodes and sixteen axes. Both keep controller tasks, motion planning and network connections inside one CompactLogix platform.

Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM combine sequence control, axis commands and machine-state supervision in one execution model while keeping time-critical and supervisory work in suitable tasks.
Periodic, event and continuous tasks organize machine logic so time-critical motion and slower supervisory routines do not share one uncontrolled scan.
Position commands, axis feedback and drive status move through EtherNet/IP motion connections, while controller logic handles interlocks and machine states.
Axis feedback, permissives and sequence conditions are evaluated by the same controller application. A motion command can therefore be held, advanced or stopped from the machine state without passing through a separate motion controller.
In Linear/DLR mode, both ports belong to one network and can continue the machine-level Ethernet path through the controller.
Dual-IP mode gives each port its own address and subnet, separating device traffic from plant or engineering access.
The right-side 5069 bus carries local module data independently of the field-side power applied to each I/O module.
Choose Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM from the required memory, EtherNet/IP node count, local I/O count and coordinated motion axes rather than processor name alone.
Yes. Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM can use Dual-IP mode so the two embedded ports operate on independent address spaces.
For Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM, count configured EtherNet/IP nodes and reserved connections, not only visible drives or I/O adapters.
Before changing the local row on Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM, remove module and field power and verify the end-cap and bus connectors before re-energizing.
The motion value for Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM is the position-loop axis capacity; non-positioned devices and ordinary I/O use other resources.
After replacing Allen-Bradley 5069-L310ERM / 5069-L330ERM, restore the correct network mode, port addresses, controller project and motion configuration before validating I/O ownership.
