Allen-Bradley 1783-CMS6P and Allen-Bradley 1783-CMS10P are managed industrial Ethernet switches in the Stratix 5200 family. Both use the Full firmware feature set and provide all-Gigabit access interfaces for connecting Ethernet devices within a managed switched network.
The 1783-CMS6P provides six total ports: four 100/1000 copper ports and two 100/1000 SFP slots. Its two fiber positions are dedicated SFP interfaces, so the unit separates the copper access ports from the pluggable optical media positions.
The 1783-CMS10P expands the layout to ten total ports. Eight are 100/1000 copper ports, while two are 100/1000 combo ports that provide a copper or SFP connection option at each combo position.
Both 1783-CMS6P and 1783-CMS10P accept 12…48 V DC input, mount on DIN rail and use an IP30 open-style enclosure. The six-port unit is rated at 14 W maximum power consumption; the ten-port unit is rated at 17.7 W. A relay output is available for alarm signaling, and the Full firmware set includes managed network, security, routing and diagnostic services.

Four RJ45 copper interfaces form the fixed copper group. The remaining two interfaces are SFP slots, keeping the pluggable fiber positions separate from the copper ports.
Eight RJ45 interfaces provide the fixed copper group. Two additional combo positions allow copper or SFP media to be selected at those interfaces.
Full firmware supports MST, RPVST, REP, EtherChannel and Media Redundancy Protocol. The P configurations do not provide integrated Device Level Ring ports.
Connected routing and static routes are available together with QoS, IGMP snooping, DHCP per port and IPv6 functions.
CIP Sync is supported, and Logix integration is available through the Add-On Profile. The switches also provide a web-based management interface.
Port security, access control lists, 802.1X, RADIUS and TACACS+ are included. Diagnostic tools include RSPAN, ping, traceroute and downloadable debug information.
1783-CMS6P has four copper ports and two SFP slots. 1783-CMS10P has eight copper ports and two combo ports, for six and ten total ports respectively.
Both accept 12…48 V DC. Maximum input current is 1.6 A for 1783-CMS6P and 2.0 A for 1783-CMS10P.
Yes. 1783-CMS6P provides two dedicated SFP slots, while the two combo positions on 1783-CMS10P provide an SFP media option. Supported SFP modules must be selected for the required link.
Both are DIN-rail-mounted, open-style IP30 devices. Installation requires an appropriate enclosure and at least 25.4 mm clearance at the top, bottom, sides and front.
Each switch provides an alarm relay rated for a 1.0 A resistive load at 30 V DC or a 0.5 A resistive load at 60 V DC.
Yes. Both are Full firmware configurations with managed resiliency, routing, security, industrial integration and diagnostic functions. Neither model is an integrated DLR configuration.
