Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS are ControlLogix 5590 standard safety controllers that place standard control, safety execution and high-speed EtherNet/IP communication in one 1756 chassis module. The controller owns local backplane modules and remote devices while a dedicated safety application supervises safety-related inputs, logic and outputs.
Two embedded Gigabit ports on Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS can carry controller, I/O and engineering traffic without requiring a separate chassis Ethernet bridge for the controller connection. A USB Type-C service interface supports local engineering, while an 8 GB microSD card stores application and controller files.
The L902TS in Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS provides 2 MB standard and 2 MB safety memory with thirty EtherNet/IP nodes. The L905TS expands each memory area to 5 MB and raises the network limit to one hundred nodes for a larger safeguarded system.

Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS manage a distinct safety application whose task, data access and validation state remain separate from standard controller logic.
Safety routines and tags follow safety-specific access rules, preventing ordinary application edits from silently changing the validated safety function.
The safety signature records the accepted safety application; any safety edit requires a new review, test and signature.
The achieved safety level depends on the controller configuration, safety partner requirements, I/O architecture and validated machine design rather than the controller catalog number alone.
The two Ethernet ports carry I/O ownership, produced and consumed data, messaging and engineering access within the configured topology.
USB Type-C provides a temporary engineering path when network access is unavailable or must remain isolated.
Local 1756 modules exchange data and draw chassis power through the backplane while their field circuits use their own documented power sources.
Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS differ in standard memory, safety memory, EtherNet/IP node capacity and OPC UA node capacity.
No. Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS require the documented controller and safety architecture, compatible safety I/O and a validated application to achieve the intended safety level.
The safety signature on Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS identifies the validated safety application so subsequent edits cannot be mistaken for the accepted version.
Before replacing Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS, record firmware, project revision, safety signature, network addressing, chassis slot and every owned safety connection.
Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS can use both embedded ports within the supported network configuration; the topology must still preserve every standard and safety connection path.
Allen-Bradley 1756-L902TS / 1756-L905TS may require the configured safety reset or restart conditions after the cause of the connection fault is cleared.
Moore Automation can record discontinued or difficult-to-source industrial part numbers alongside photographs, revision details and destination requirements. Any availability statement is confirmed for the individual enquiry rather than presented as guaranteed stock.
