The CPU board includes a microprocessor, RAM, a real-time clock, LED indicators, a reset button, and a CompactFlash interface. The PM857 controller baseboard has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connecting to the control network, and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4). One serial port (COM3) is an RS232C port with modem control signals, while the other (COM4) is an isolated serial port for connecting configuration tools. This controller supports CPU redundancy to enhance system availability (including CPU, CEX bus, communication interfaces, and S800 I/O). High integrity functionality can be achieved by adding an SM812 module and SIL-certified software. Simply adding an SM81x module and selecting the appropriate software upgrades non-critical control systems to SIL-certified systems. The AC 800M high integrity system also provides a control environment compliant with IEC 61508 and TÜV standards, seamlessly integrating safety and business-critical process control in a single controller unit without compromising system safety. The PM857 can handle up to 128 I/O signals and is SIL3 certified. Configuration must be performed according to the safety manual before use.
